Monday night was a sweet time for seniors, parents, and staff to celebrate seniors’ time in the youth ministry. They are truly loved and will be missed dearly as they head off in the fall!

Don’t miss Youth Sunday – this Sunday, May 6! Our Seniors will take over the 8:30 and 11:00 services, and all youth will participate!

42 high schoolers and 10 leaders headed to Arizona for Spring Break with expectations of dirt, no showers, tents, hard work, and great fellowship. What they did not expect was unseasonable rain, snow, and hail for 2 of the days to start out the camping week!  However, everyone overcame the cold and wet conditions, and succeeded in building unforgettable relationships, as well as completing various stages of new houses on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. It’s amazing how God works through the unexpected and challenges to create a wonderful and adventurous trip.

Through Barefoot Republic, students are encouraged to develop Christ-centered relationships between individuals who represent diverse racial, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. 2012 marks their 11th summer of camp and the 4th summer at their facility just over an hour north of Nashville. In addition to traditional athletics, performing arts, fine arts, extreme sports and action-adventure programs, their 100+ acre camp facility on Barren Lake has permitted them to add a fishing, hiking, swimming, boating, canoeing, low ropes and paintball to our list of growing activities. The 9th graders headed to Gatlinburg, TN last weekend. The weekend was filled with playing pool, skiing, having great meals together, a little hot tub time, games, and a great study of the Prodigal Son! Although conditions were more icy than snowy, everyone skied smart and safely! And most important – we steered clear of the bears.

We’re getting pumped for our Spring Break trip to Arizona!! 43 awesome youth + 10 incredible leaders will make for an exciting and meaningful trip!

We had a great family-filled weekend at FPC last weekend! Guest speaker Leif Kehrwald headed two sessions – one Saturday night and one Sunday morning. Parents learned all about Raising a Faith-Filled Family. Missed the Facelift? Download Leif’s presentation here:

Children also joined the choir in singing in the 11:00 worship service on Sunday for a family celebration service.

12th Graders had an awesome time at Passion Conference in Atlanta. 9th graders, you’re the final class trip for the year. Represent.

The 8th grade class got together after Sunday School yesterday for some holiday cheer! After enjoying lunch together, the group played the ever-popular dirty Santa and played a friendly game of trivia. They also made Christmas cards for the men at Room in the Inn!

Holiday wishes from the FPC Youth Staff!!

On Saturday November 112^th, the 10^th grade class saddled up their sleeping bags, tents, pop tarts and backpacks and headed off into the wilderness of Fiery Gizzard together. The ensuing 24 hours were filled braving the elements, conquering the rocky terrain, and learning the treacherous nature of going to the bathroom in the woods. Cooking communal food together, circling around the fire as their source of heat and light, and wrestling with the questions of growing in Godliness together, these 10^th graders were invited and welcomed into deeper community with each other and their God. While experiencing the depth of each others’ fellowship, these 10^th graders and their leaders were humbled by the glorious display of God’s creation, and were reminded of His desire to be glorified in the same way through their lives. While resting under the stars, these youth were resting in God’s promise to be faithful to them as He has been faithful to all that He has created.
